About the event
Tanner Vineyards and the "Tanner" family have long ties with communities on both sides of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Omund Tanner arrived in the United States in 1855 but moved to Silver Mountain in Alpine County during the gold and silver mining booms of the mid-1800's. While a resident of Alpine County, Omund ran for sheriff and a successful mining venture until he sold his claim in 1871. History shows he acquired property in Murphys which included "a house, barn, fence, and 2,000 grape vines." The Tanner family continues to work these vines and will offer a sampling of their past year's harvest to twenty guests. Each tasting will be paired with hearty bites, all from locally sourced ingredients.
