Meet the Maker, Marci Mendoza Boggs:

"I think I’ve always been a maker, it kind of comes naturally when your father is an artist and you have access to different artistic mediums and all his supplies. 

Born and raised by the ocean in Santa Barbara, my first jewelry supplies were shells given to me by my neighbors who were divers. I began to simply string them on pieces of thin leather, wore them around my wrists and neck and actually still love that look today.

I also enjoy wire wrapping natural gemstone beads or knotting them on colorful silk, however, when I couldn’t find quality focal pieces for my designs I decided to start making them myself. About 5 years ago I bought a torch and a jewelers saw and taught myself the art of metal/silversmithing and haven’t looked back since.
